About Kimberly
"All my best experiences have stemmed from that courage I learned from my mother: the courage to decide, to change, to move out of my comfort zone. I live by this truth: the beast of fear must be tamed, or life itself will eat me up."
Kimberly Hampton Nilsson is a Doctor of Chiropractic, mother of two, and a true citizen of the world. Hailing from Miami, Florida in the USA, she now resides in Örebro, Sweden.
Uniquely for this South Florida native, Kimberly spent her teenage years in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. There she had the good fortune of falling in love with a lifestyle of exercise and the outdoors, namely Nordic skiing.
Kimberly's primary vocation lies in the field of chiropractic. A commitment to holistic health with an empathetic approach has made her a cherished figure in her community. During her school internship, Kimberly extended herself to serve the non-English speaking, Hispanic migrant community of Oregon. Early on in her career, she was named 1993’s “Woman of the Year” on Maui, Hawaii, for volunteer work treating people afflicted with AIDS. In 1997 she moved to Tuscany, Italy, and collaborated with the medical community working in a multi-doctor office. Seven years later she and her family started over in Sweden.
Travel has been a way of life for Kimberly since childhood. In the last decade her love and fascination has turned towards safari adventures and tropical places, where she most enjoys spending her free time. Even today, plans are being set to combine new itineraries for the coming year, with the intention of writing entwined with new adventures for a sabbatical year to celebrate turning sixty.
