First stop: Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia

Travels

Flight time from Stockholm: 6 hours to Doha, Qatar, plus another 9 more hours. This enchanted island of 129 square kilometres, and nearly 740,000 inhabitants attracts a staggering 5,274,000 International visitors per year!

But, “Oh my God, Kimberly!” Yes, I know it’s true even in this most sacred and gorgeous time of year in Central Sweden, I’m headed out to enjoy this tiny crowded place on our magnificent planet. Ya know, it is when we “get out” and experience the world, we eventually return home with a new sense of appreciation for what lies in our very own backyard.

I wouldn’t usually decide to leave the exploding nature and warm long days of Sweden in the month of June, but this time I have chosen to participate in a writer’s workshop with Laura Davis; author & writing teacher. It will be a privilege to slow time, reflect and soak up a rich cultural and tropical landscape, all the while attempting to put a trace of it on paper.

And while I’m there, the curious traveler in me decided to stay a full 30 days, to see what else I might find to enrich my “make-life-an-adventure” itch. It’s going to be along the lines of seeking out natural beauty on another island of Indonesia, and peeking below the surface of the big turquoise blue.

Hang with me! Check in now, and then. I promise to share the enthralling moments of both; the beautiful and unusual (for me.)
